CNNMoney.com picked Marietta, GA as one of the top 100 places to live.
"Eric Baker from Marietta sent CNNmoney.com a picture of the beautiful Marietta Square," states a City News Release, "and wrote about what sets Marietta apart from thousands of cities across the country."
If you are moving to Atlanta or thinking about it this metro Atlanta city may be one to consider. Like many places in the South Marietta is "surrounded by history" and its Glover Park "offers real calm and you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city," according to Eric Baker's nomination on CNNMoney.com.
Marietta is also home to one of the most peculiar attractions one might never hear about. The Big Chicken. It is a 56 foot tall wooden chicken built onto a Kentucky Fried Chicken. While driving
by or sitting at a red light its beak can be seem moving up and down while its eyes move in small circles. As odd as it may sound, The Big Chicken is used as a landmark for location and giving directions. It even has its own Wikipedia page. Go ahead and Google it!
For anyone considering Marietta, even if for just a visit it may be a good idea to request a visitor's guide. Some might visit for the Gone with the Wind Museum. Others for the Museum of History.
Marietta is certainly worth a look for anyone considering the Atlanta area.
