I am here to help.

Indeed, there are many a Father’s Day gifts that are less than delightful to the recipient. Sorry to say, dinners with the family, new clothes that YOU might like on him and tools for hubby to fix the house are not the best ideas for your beloved.

Seriously, do you think he WANTS to get that new set of gardening tools!?

Or do you WANT him to USE that new set of gardening tools…

Yeah, nice gift Mrs. Thoughtful

If your guy is a car fan, gear head or if he merely likes things with wheels, I hope to impart a few ideas to get you on the right track. Come on, think about your fellah. He deserves something cool in such a crappy year.

1. Buy your bloke a set of racing tickets to a race he WANTS to see (and do not suggest that YOU go with him unless you know racing). Chances are, he has a friend he would rather bring. http://www.ticketsolutions.com/auto-racing-tickets.asp

2. Send him racing on the cheap. Many people do not realize how intense, fast and outright enjoyable Go-Karts can be. For about $35 to do the “arrive-and-drive” jaunt (with a 10 minute safety course) you can send husband and a few of his buddies for less than a over-hyped, underappreciated dinner.  http://www.thetrack.us/

3. This can be pricy, but there are many things your man can do at a racing school. Think of it this way, if he sucks as a regular driver, this can truly help. For one of the best driving schools in Colorado: http://www.go4itservices.com/

4. Another very good racing school. http://www.faasst.com/

5. Any REAL man wants to clean his own vehicle. I’m not talking about regurgitated dishwashing soap either. There are some good waxes, cleaners, polishers, scent-enhancers and brightening equipment/products available for tough-guy’s special ride. Here’s a good place to start for car cleaning products http://www.turtlewax.com/

6. NASCAR apparel http://racingusa.com/nascarapparel.html

7. Racing themed goodies (racing themed toy cars, clothing, gear etc.) http://www.racestoreonline.com/

8. One day I will grow up. Here’s some racing lingerie available on Ebay… I guess it’s a little something for everyone. http://shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=racing+lingerie&_armrs=1&_from=&_sop=12

9. I know – I should get a life… (Sigh) anyway, here’s a website with racing clothing – for dogs. http://www.kooldawgtees.com/COUNTRY_DAWG_DOG_SHIRTS.html

REMEMBER – he thinks he smells good enough. Getting him something that YOU like the smell of may yield negative results. Get him something he WANTS!

Best of luck!
