In my first article showing what a woman of God is like, we ended with frugality and diligence in the area of clothing for her and her family; now let’s continue on with verse 14 of Proverbs 31. “She is like the merchant’s ships she brings her food from afar.” This wife is willing to take the time to search and look for the best for her family. Does this describe you? Or do you go out and just buy the first thing you see that looks good never reading the ingredients label? Are you willing to check things out and make certain the foodstuffs you buy are nutritious and delicious? Do you know what is good and what isn’t?

Years ago it was very difficult to find organic grains, meat and produce. I had to order these items by phone or go to a health food store to ask them to order for me. We would purchase a calf from a farmer we knew and when it grew on good pasture to the size we wanted, we had good beef. Many woman besides myself purchased wheat grinders to grind their grains into flour to bake wholesome whole grain breads, rolls & desserts. Today it is so much easier for women to get the best for their families as most grocery stores have sections for organic produce and they even carry organic grains and flours. Grain mills are also sold on the internet. You might try grinding your own flour and baking your own bread! It gives you a great feeling of accomplishment!

Many women also shop on line for products that they can’t purchase in the grocery stores, such as non GMO and organic grains, etc. It isn’t as difficult today as it was years ago to find quality food stuffs. The only problem today is that there are companies that are adulterating our food supply by growing Genetically Modified grains. And all kinds of chemicals and synthetic sweeteners are added to almost everything on the shelves. Growing your own garden is actually the best. If you can't plant a garden, find a good farmer's market and try to preserve your own fruits and vegetables. If you can't can or freeze, try drying or culturing your food. Cultured fruits and vegetables are very good for your digestive system.

If you are willing to do searches on the internet or in the library you will be surprised to learn how much is being added to your food that in the long run is harmful for your family. Why is the incidence of diabetes in children on the rise? Have you ever thought about it? Why are so many children plagued with allergies and different diseases at early ages? Don't leave your knowledge and understanding of nutrition up to the so called 'experts', do your own study and also seek knowledge and understanding from God's Word. The Bible is the best source for the kinds of food God intended you to put into your body and those of your family! Seek the Biblical way to good health!

If you are interested in having a healthy family, then you are modeling yourself after the Proverbs 31 woman!

To be continued….
