Wanted: Three Party System.
The two party system has out lived its usefulness in my opinion. The issues of today just aren’t black and white, or left and right, any longer. Greed and corruption have taken on a life of their own, and neither party cares—maybe because they both benefit from them.Partisan politics has ever so slowly taken over the top level of importance in both parties; each concerned with its own priorities, each preferring to expend energy pointing fingers of blame. Because this results in a constant state of gridlock, and because they won’t do anything about it, it smacks of contempt for the American people. It’s almost as if they view us as a necessary evil, and only remember we’re here at election time. This failure of the “Bailout Bill” proves that. Why? Because this bill is nothing more than a reward for those who screwed over the American public, and after a third of the House Democrats, and two-thirds of the House Republicans defeated it, both party leaders still want to force it through.
Pelosi throws the term “bi-partisan” around as if it really means something. Think about the country? How? We DON”T WANT THE FREAKING BAILOUT! What part of “NO!” don’t they understand? What does it take to get through to these ... public servants?
According to what I’ve read, or seen on TV, Americans DO NOT want their hard earned dollars to pay for the excesses of greed on Wall Street and Washington. They want those who should pay to do exactly that. However, I think what bothers me the most is that, according to Forbes, a Treasury Spokesperson said they just pulled the 700 Billion dollar figure out of the air. When asked why, they replied, “...we just wanted to choose a really large number.” The truth is, a total bailout may exceed three times that amount. What the hell do they want? Every single dime we have?
While the Republicans and Democrats bump heads, and blame each other for every failure known to man, the American people suffer. Forty years ago, America was a great country. People had jobs, raised families, owned homes, and never locked their doors ... not even during the Great Depression. During that time, one party or the other has been in power, and across those forty years, America has gotten progressively worse. I, for one, am sick of it. It’s time for another opinion, and I believe the Libertarian Party is available.
If the government can’t borrow even MORE money for the Baiilout, they’ll print it, making the dollar bill in your pocket worth fifty cents or less, and if the House and Senate pass this abomination, they should all lose their jobs, and never be allowed to hold office again. Do yourself a favor. Watch CNN. Be informed.
