Bridge Work to Last Weeks. Expect Backups to O.C.

August 27, 7:38 PM

If you plan to spend the last holiday weekend of the summer at the ocean, instead of on the bridge, you might want to leave very early, or take the northern route.

Due to the damage to the bridge, and subsequent discovery of corrosion in the metal of the concrete barriers, MTA reports that two-way traffic on the westbound span will be employed during peak hours, and three lanes westbound during the morning rush. Expect major delays this holiday weekend. See WBAL TV’s Kim Dacey’s report on the bridge, the ocean, and the weekend, for complete details.
