Being that I was alive in the '80s (and the '70s and the '60s and the last year of the '50s... sigh), I know what Hall and Oates sounds like. They and their mix of blue-eyed soul, pop and rock were inescapable. Switch on a radio, flip by MTV, and there they'd be.

Anyway, the reason I mention them is how you could pretty much set yesterday's Texas Sprint Cup race to a setlist of Hall and Oates songs. Shall we?

Maneater - An apt description for Sam Hornish Jr. taking out Jimmie Johnson on lap three, thus adding at least a dash of drama to the Chase entering the final two races.

Missed Opportunity - What Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon were singing after the race, especially Gordon who under the, uh, "guiding" hand of crew chief Steve Letarte and a pit crew that couldn't get out of its own way threw away a golden opportunity to take full advantage of Johnson's misfortune.

Say It Isn't So
- Something every member of the Junior Nation said in unison when what had been a solid day went down the drain due to a closing laps fuel mileage miscalculation.

It's A Laugh
- Something enjoyed by oh so many when Kyle Busch, after having dominated most of the race, saw it all go away when he too ran out of gas near the end.

Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid - Maybe that's why Kyle Busch blew off the media after the race?

How Does It Feel To Be Back
- The tune ringing in Kurt Busch's ears as he pulled into Victory Lane.

You've Lost That Loving Feeling
- A tune many of us have been singing this year in regard to NASCAR.

And on to Phoenix we go.
