Despite striking evidence that the death of former NFL Quarterback Steve McNair and his mistress was the result of a murder-suicide, medical examiners aren't drawing formal conclusions just yet.
McNair was found shot to death Saturday alongside his mistress, 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, in his Tennessee condo.
McNair suffered four bullet wounds, while Kazemi was killed by a single bullet to the head. Her body was found on top of the murder weapon, a gun which she had purchased only days before.
Authorities aren't ruling out other options just yet especially because Kazemi's family indicated that she had been very happy. They said they saw no suicidal warning signs in her behavior leading up to her death.
An official ruling on Kazemi's death is expected to be released in a few days after ballistic evidence has been evaluated.
However medical examiner Bruce Levy did state today that it is very unlikely that the crime scene was staged by a third party.
