Ugg. There is only one part of being a new mom I am not loving. The baby weight part. Even though I'm nursing, it is so hard to lose any weight. I think it's a combination of factors holding me back:
1. I developed bad habits while pregnant. There wasn't an ice cream bowl I didn't lick for about 9 months straight. Those bad habits are HARD to break.
2. It is seriously hard to fit a workout into our day. Between taking care of Lincoln and working, I don't feel like I have a minute to myself.
3. Apathy. For those first few months, I had the "new baby" excuse for the extra weight.
Well, that is over. Lincoln's eight months old next week and my goal is to be back to pre-baby weight by the time he's one. I know that there are others who feel my pain and that's why I'm designating Monday's to be baby weight talk. I'll have workout tips, eating and cooking ideas, and other fun ways that I've found to fit in exercise with my little guy. After all, I want him to live a health life, and he can learn that from me!
This week's goal: Do one thing everyday.
Some ideas: Sit-ups with the baby (mine thinks it's hilarious when I disappear and then pop back up). Park far, far away from Target and walk (as opposed from my usual behavior of driving around until I find a top spot!). Save dessert just for when it's really good (as opposed to after every meal, if you're like me! After all, I'm breastfeeding! Can you see why I need help?!?).
Check back each Monday for more tips and ideas.
