ROCKFORD - The IceHogs certainly put on a show for their fans at the MetroCentre Friday night, beating the Milwaukee Admirals by a score of 6-1. Rockford was first on the board with a goal from forward Evan Brophy (assisted by Mike Brennan). There was some action on the boards sending the puck to Brophy, who was able to tap it just hard enough to slowly trickle past Admirals netminder Mark Dekanich.

Seven minutes and 45 seconds later, the Hogs struck again with a goal from forward Jack Skille (assisted by Kyle Greentree and Mark Cullen), marking his first goal of the 2009-2010 campaign. This isn't Skille's first goal against the Admirals, as he has spent the last 3 seasons with Rockford. Skille's late 1st period goal sent the Admirals into the locker room with a two-goal deficit.

The IceHogs scoring rampage continued into the second period, when forward Danny Bois scored 2:11 in, marking his 4th goal of the season and putting the home team up by 3 goals. It wasn't until the 6:55 mark that Milwaukee forward Mike Santorelli put the brakes on IceHogs offense with a wrist shot through the legs of Hogs goalie Corey Crawford. Santorelli, who spent the first part of the season with the Admirals parent club the Nashville Predators, has accumulated 6 points in the 3 games since his return to Milwaukee.

Tempers flaired the last half of the game, as Milwaukee captain Nolan Yonkman and IceHogs winger Danny Bois threw down the gloves on the far boards, earning each of them a five minute major at the end of the second. This certainly wouldn't be the last time referee Chris Cozzan handed out fighting majors during the game, as 2 more five minute penalties would be handed out in the third.

Rockford started the third period off with a power-play goal from defenseman Brian Connelly. A series of well executed passes from teammates Kyle Greentree and Mark Cullen in front of the Milwaukee put the IceHogs up by a score of 4-1. The Hogs would strike two more times with goals from Akim Aliu at the 3:29 mark and Mark Cullen (power-play) with just over a minute left.

IceHogs goalie Corey Crawford earned himself first star of the game, making 32 saves. Milwaukee's Mark Dekanich took the loss on the night, making 19 saves on 25 shots.
