Episode Three, "It Ends in Coto de Caza": Welcome to Scottsdale, Arizona, where Slade and Gretchen have escaped to get away from the drama of Orange County. With Gretchen in her bikini again, she and Slade lounge by the pool (these housewives really like to lounge don't they?) We hear how Gretchen wants four kids and what a surprise to learn that Slade's up for genetic testing, a vasectomy, and getting married to her. Later they party with Gretchen's friend, Kelly, at Barcelona restaurant/nightclub--Kelly owns the club. There are burlesque and pole dancers (Gretchen even took a short spin around the pole). She's baaack.
Next up.Tamra's drops by to check up on Jeana and invite her to her La Perla lingerie shop party. We learn that, unfortunately, Matt Keough, who's played for the Oakland A's, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros was arrested for another DUI. Jeana and Matt are in the final stages of their divorce. The kids are home. Life goes on. Jeana won't be making it to Tamra's gig. She's done with the mean girls; done with the drama, done with the housewives. She's focusing on work and her family. Regrouping. They discuss the last time they were together at the St. Regis and the Gretchen/Tamra blowout. Jeana suggests that perhaps Tamra owes Gretchen an apology, which doesn’t go over well, as you can imagine. Jeana basically thinks that the housewives shouldn’t be constantly criticizing each other and tells her so. Tamra thinks that Jeana's the drama monger. The cameras will soon be leaving her home. She's done.
In new housewife Alexis Bellino's kitchen, we see her busily tending to her son, James' hair, giving him a punk look with hair gel. We also meet "Olga," one of the Bellino family's two nannies. Alexis is a stay-at-home mom of three with two (2) nannies. She says it's difficult sometimes. Melania and MacKenna are 20-month-old twins, and James is three. She and her husband, Jim, have been married for four years and have a "Christian marriage," putting God first, marriage second, children third. She says her goal is to be the best mom and wife she can be. Jim is an "entrepreneur." We see them take time out for lunch, which Jim refers to as "halftime," and they joke about finding time in the middle of the day to stop and have lunch together.
Jeana visits Vicki, where she finds the happy housewife making lasagna and pie. Vicki said Jeana will always be her neighbor unless one of them moves, but she's not necessarily always going to be her friend. They catch up on things--Kara's "beautiful" sorority, etc. Vicki says Jeana became toxic in her life by "stirring the pot," and feels she didn't have her back in business transactions (i.e. Frankie, Slade).
Jeana: "I am not as close to Vicki as I used to be. Vicki is a little insensitive to other people's problems." Vicki: "I think Jeana just needs to get her house in order. The last few years with Jeana there was conflict. A lot of things that she did were wrong and hurtful and so, I'm done."
On to Tamra's house, where she's having a barbecue and has invited Alexis and family over for some sun and fun. Holy banging body, Batman! Alexis is built like a California brickhouse pizza oven. Simon and Tamra comment on how Jim and Alexis remind them of them when they first were married; although, Tamra understands that relationships have their ups and downs. The guests arrive (it is customary for them to bring along their nanny--just one this time), We learn more about the new housewife's banging body--"she's tall and skinny and Alexis has knockers. Wait. KNOCKERS!" Tamra confides that she definitely has jealousy issues towards Alexis. Alexis shows Tamra her ring: Now she "knows what 18 karats looks like!" They break bread (or hot dogs) together .
Frank, Lynne's husband, has had two of the roughest years of his construction business. Making poor choices and real estate investments, he says that he got creamed, along with everyone else in the OC. Lynne says it makes sense for them to downsize right now as her "cuff" business is supporting the family pretty much. Alexa thinks there are just too many changes going on in her life and she's having a hard time coping.
Saying that she and Gretchen have known each other for about a year, Alexis invites her to a spinning class. Alexis confides that she doesn’t want Jim to end up with a frumpy wife--she works out four to six hours per week. The class whips Gretchen's "patootie wootie," and she asks Alexis to remind her not to do it again. She warns her that when she was the "new girl," Tamra warned her that Vicki "turns ugly." Alexis is a little nervous about meeting Vicki.
Jeana and Kara go out to lunch at The Stand. Kara thinks it's cool that her mom is dating and would love it if her mom would marry again. She says that she "love's love" now and is all Kumbaya. OK. What did those whacky Berkeley tree people do to Kara Keough?
Finally, Tamra's La Perla Party. Will Gretchen and Tamra claw each other's eyes out? (Never say never. Lawdhammercy.) The girls choose sexaay things and take off for the dressing rooms. The husbands are happy about it; everyone except Jim Bellino, who does not want Alexis prancing around in front of other men in her underwear--this is for Jim's eyes only; wearing a teeny bikini is not the same thing, apparently. Alexis clarifies that they are NOT the same thing, that a bathing suit is "full coverage." Alexis tells the camera that she's 32-years-old and likes to be sexy. She figures she has another eight years before she has to "tone it down" a bit; before she's called a "cougar." Lynne brings Alexa to the party. No one argues, fights, pulls wigs, gets drunk, or screams. Go figure. Alexis actually likes Vicki and Vicki welcomes her to "her world." Vicki's fangs did not come out that night, Alexis shares. Vicki says that she is trying to be nicer this year. Tamra says she doesn’t want anymore drama; she's going to be nicer this year, also. Gretchen says if they have to be together, they really don't want it to be all about drama. Who sprinkled the Kumbaya dust on the crew? As always with these housewives' shows, we'll have to see how it all plays out. Any betters in the audience?
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Jeana's making dinner for the tribe--one of her favorite things to do. She shares with us that it means the world to her to have her children all in one place. Kara's away at UCLA. Colton is a senior in high school--time flies!. Shane is in the off season. We see them gathered together for dinner again and it's comforting somehow.
Jeana Keough is done with the Real Housewives of Orange County! We will miss you Keough Family and wish you all the best of everything in your lives.
