On Sunday, five people were killed and 37 were wounded in a popular market in Moussaïab, a locality situated 60 km south of Baghdad. while three others were killed in Karbala in two bomb attacks according to Iraqi police.

The explosives were hidden in a cooler placed on a bicycle's rack, police said adding that women and children were among the victims.

The city of Moussaïab is home to Sunni and Shiite populations, but the neighborhood where the attack occurred is mainly populated by Shiites. In the Shiite holy city of Kerbala, located 80 km southwest of the capital, a bomb hidden in a bus killed three people and injured 15 others, said an official at the city hospital.
