Halifax officials did their version of the cover of "Abbey
   Road." (Copyright Apple Corps Ltd.)

What we posted Wednesday:

It wasn't in the official announcement of the Tulsa show, but according to the BOK Center website, an American Express presale will run from 10 a.m. CT July 13 to 10 p.m. CT July 18. The regular sale begins July 20. We updated our Tulsa concert post with the presale information, plus the video of the press conference announcement that includes a short video of Paul McCartney made for the occasion.

The Halifax mayor and premier did a little bit of promotion for their upcoming McCartney show coming this weekend with a re-creation of the "Abbey Road" cover. You can see it on thestar.com. In addition, Metro News also asked some locals what songs they hoped to hear.

The Beatles remastered CDs got an unusual endorsement Wednesday from "Dr. Ebbetts," who has become known among collectors for his unauthorized Beatles CDs. He announced in an email mailing he was ceasing operations, effective immediately,  because the upcoming Beatles remasters will be better than anything he could do. "The fact of the matter is, the Dr. Ebbetts material does not -- and will not -- sound better than what is coming commercially in September," he explained.

DC Cultural Events Examiner Patricia Leslie discusses what it's like "When you wish upon Yoko Ono's Tree at the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden."

The Collecting Vinyl Records blog reports an acetate of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Wedding Album" is up for sale. Price is $25,000. The press release printed on the blog, in an inadvertent bit of humor, calls it the "mother load" (instead of mother lode).

You can now have your recording track mastered by Abbey Road Online Mastering for £90 (roughly $145 USD) per digital track, reports Sonic State.

Tom Frangione sent some information for those planning to go to the Citi Field McCartney shows:

Some info, direct from customerservice@507tixx.com:

1. What time will gates open? A: The gates will open at 5:30.

2. Any special or different parking arrangements, or will standard lots / marina be open? A: Same parking arrangements as for a ballgame.

3. Is tailgating/picnicing allowed in parking lots / marina? A: You may picnic in the lots, no open flames.

4. Will the areas behind the stage (where vending spots like the ShakeShack are located) be open for the shows? It looks like the seating will be closed off. A: While the seating will be closed the stands back there will be open.
