Posted on Tuesday:

In addition to Tuesday being Ringo's birthday, it was also the birthday of Jim McCartney, Paul's dad. He was born in 1902. (Thanks to Horror Happenings Examiner Charles Rosenay!!! and Angie McCartney for that.)

A note from Matt Hurwitz with a tidbit about Ringo's upcoming album:

Hi, Steve--

I just had the opportunity to interview Gary Wright for an upcoming article on the recording of his massive hit, "Dream Weaver" for Mix Magazine.  Gary, of course, was a member of Ringo's All-Starr Band last year.  He mentioned having heard some of Ringo's upcoming new album, and said it's quite good.  He also mentioned a song co-written by him with Ringo and Gary Nicholson (who, you'll remember, co-wrote "Never Without You" on Ringo's "Ringo Rama" album), titled "Peace Dream."

Sounds like we've got some good Ringo coming soon!

Mark Zutkoff in Texas says he received an email from a Japanese dealer advertising the remastered CD box sets. "Imagine my surprise when in today’s email, I see “The Beatles In Mono” and “The Stereo Albums” listed as going on sale 2009-09-09! The contents (not described in huge detail, but enough) appear to match the previously described planned releases." He said, "The mono box, with 13 CDs, is priced significantly higher than the stereo box with 14 CDs – 39800 yen ($422.20 roughly in U.S. dollars, according to the latest rates) vs. 35800 yen ($379.80 roughly).

Bloomberg.com has a feature about Kristin Scott Thomas playing John Lennon's Aunt Mimi in the upcoming "Nowhere Boy" film.

The New York Daily News' David Hinckley took the high road in a tribute to Allen Klein, whose services, were held Tuesday, as were Michael Jackson's. (Thanks to Kris Tash.)

Tuesday, thenewno2 tweeted several upcoming gigs: July 9th/9:15pm - House of Blues, San Diego, CA, July 10th/9:45pm - House of Blues, Anaheim, CA, July 11th/8:30pm - The Rialto Theatre, Tucson, AZ.

Markus den Boer in Germany is working on a international McCartney 7" singles discography compiled with the help of fans.  Take a look at the project in development at www.mccartney-discography.com. You can there also download some sample pages as a PDF-file.

Sunday edition of "Andre Gardner's 'Breakfast With the Beatles'" included an acetate of Ringo Starr's "Beaucoup of Blues," "All Together Now" and "Act Naturally" by Ringo and Buck Owens.

The yellow submarine outside the Beatles Story in Liverpool has been stolen, the museum reports on their site. Beatles Story MD Jerry Goldman, said,  "We're very upset and angry that someone would perform such a selfish act.  We would like to offer a £100 reward to be donated to the Linda McCartney Centre on behalf of anyone who can return our Submarine safely." If you can help, call 0151 709 1963 or email info@beatlesstory.com. (The yellow submarine pictured is not the lost sub. It's just some kids having fun.)
