Some unpublished lyrics by George Harrison to a poem or perhaps a song never completed will go on permanent display at the British Library, reports Times Online. Author Hunter Davies, who was given the lyrics by Harrison, says they were written in 1966 or 1967.

Here are the words (as written):

Im happy to say that its only a dream

when I come across people like you,

its only a dream and you make it obscene

with the things that you think and you do.

your so unaware of the pain that I bear

and jealous for what you cant do.

There’s times when I feel that you haven’t a hope

but I also know that isn’t true.

David Sinclair, also in Times Online, takes the opportunity to give a somewhat gruff analysis of those words. Actually, overanalysis might be a better term. "Here, the references to 'the pain that I bear', and the jealousy that he apparently inspires in the person the verse is addressed to, sound as if they were written during a moment of post-adolescent self-pity that he evidently decided was best forgotten."

(UPDATE!: Additional information was released on this Friday morning in the form of a press release, a podcast interview with Hunter Davies about the poem and an exclusive picture of it. They're all in our followup post which you can find here.)

Author Davies, who wrote the authorized biography "The Beatles," talks about his year of access to the group while writing the book in an interview with the News & Star. “The most enjoyable part of doing the whole book was being present at Abbey Road. I remember thinking when they were recording 'Sgt. Pepper,' ‘If they fall out with me and I get chucked out, whatever happens I’ll be grateful for this experience," he told the paper's Roger Lytollis.

And a couple of interesting George Harrison items. First, seen above, scenes of George recording the version of  "Someplace Else" used in "Shanghai Surprise" and talking about the song, with clips from the movie. A longer video with the "Cloud 9" version is here. And thanks to Nicolas of ELO Discovery in France for the tip on this clip of George Harrison and Jeff Lynne at a motor race together.

YerBlogger posted a new entry with comments on the "Let It Roll" tracklist.

In a new interview in Rolling Stone, Bob Dylan has expressed a desire to work with Paul McCartney. Read about it in a column we published Thursday.

Liverpool's Beatles Story is featuring an exhibit of rare John and Yoko photos by Gerry Deiter, reports ClickLiverpool. Deiter was on assignment for LIFE magazine, but most of his pictures have been unseen until now, says Vickie Rehberg, president of ArtVision Exhibitions.  "He captured the celebrity visitors, the action and intimate behind-the-scenes moments between John and Yoko.”

Planning to go see the "John Lennon: The New York City Years" exhibit at the Rock Hall Annex, 76 Mercer St., New York that opens next week? You can get $5 off Monday through Friday tickets using the code Lennon2. For more information and to get tickets, go to http://rockannex.com/lennon.

Yoko Ono has designed Imagine Peace t-shirts to benefit Fashion Against AIDS. The shirts, which can be seen on her website, can be purchased online at http://www.designersagainstaidsshop.com beginning May 28.

And one of Yoko latest Tweets on Twitter: "There is an old myth that war is lucrative. Many of us are still hanging on to that idea."
