This is a delicious recipe, courtesy of Rachel Ray.  It's simple to make and the kids will love it.

You will need:

  • 2 whole pita breads
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 banana
  • 1 green apple

And for the peanut butter sauce, you need:

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Here we go:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cut the pitas in half so you have 2 big pockets for each pita.
  3. Cut each half into triangle shapes, 4 triangles per pocket.
  4. Each triangle still has 2 layers, so separate and pull the pita bread apart at the edge where it's attached.
  5. Place all of the pita chips on a cookie sheet and brush with melted butter.
  6. Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the pita pieces.
  7. Bake chips for 5 to 7 minutes, until they are crisp and lightly browned.

While that is baking, you can make the peanut butter sauce.

  1. Put peanut butter, milk and honey into a small pot.
  2. Stir and melt together over low heat for a couple of minutes.
  3.  Once melted, remove from heat.

Now that everything is cooked, pile the cinnamon pita chips on a platter and pour the peanut butter sauce over them.  Top with chopped banana and apple.  Enjoy!
