Have you been holding back your innermost decorating desires?  Sometimes, we’re afraid to do what we’d really like in terms of decorating because of what others might think or because of what we think our husbands like or don’t like.

If you have some ideas that you’ve wanted to implement like zebra sheets or red walls, then give it a try!  Paint is a fairly inexpensive way to change up a room and it can easily be changed if you decide down the road that red perhaps isn’t your signature color.

So often, we get mired down with beiges and neutral colors or patterns because it’s the safe thing to do.  Life is filled with “have-to’s.”  Don’t let somebody else’s idea of what looks good get in the way of what YOU think will look good!  We spend so much time in our homes as mothers, especially if you work from home as well.  Your home should be just that, YOURS.

Make it unique, make it different... let that inner decorating diva out and do what YOU want for a change.  And when your mother-in-law visits and says something along the lines of a polite yet knowing “Oh my,” take it with a grain of salt knowing she just probably never had a chance to go wild!  Who knows, you just might inspire her to ditch the lacy doilies and replace them with a leopard print.

Live fully,

Mia
