· Children 2 years of age or younger are higher risk for influenza complications.
· During 2007-2008 influenza complications resulted in 86 deaths.
· Over 20,000 children are hospitalized each year due to influenza complications.
For more information about the dangers of the flu visit the

A great local resource for flu shots are the
MinuteClinic retail health care centers located inside CVS/pharmacy. These clinics are staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners who specialize in family health care and are trained to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common family illnesses such as strep throat and ear, eye, sinus, bladder and bronchial infections. Common vaccinations such as influenza, tetanus, MMR and Hepatitis A & B are also available.
The Minute Clinic stores offer vaccines and treatment for common family ailments 7 days a week including weekday evening hours. Patients can walk in to get their shots during regular store hours from 8:00a.m.-8:00p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00a.m.-4:00 p.m to find the nearest MinuteClinic, go to
www.minuteclinic.com.
I love the walk in option because doctor appointments are not always convenient with school hours and the working parent's schedule.
Live fully,
