A Mother's Miraculous Story

May 22, 1:03 PM

I received the following inspirational story about an amazing mom named Anne Lim from a representative of the Kennedy Krieger Institute here in Baltimore. The representative , who prefers to remain anonymous, wanted to share this miraculous story.

"Anne Lim is a young mom raising two daughters with autism. When your child has
autism, every word, every smile, has been fought for. Anne has been fighting right
along with her daughters, making sure they get the services and support they need.

Recently, Anne shared some tearful news with the autism experts at the Kennedy
Krieger Institute, where her daughters have both received intervention services.
Janie, her youngest daughter, had just said "love you" for the first time. Anne was
overjoyed. She had never given up on hearing those words, but she didn't know just
how much finally hearing them would touch her.

Anne is truly inspiring and an example of an ordinary mom coping with extraordinary
circumstances. Raising a child with special needs is definitely a challenge, but its
one Anne meets every day with positivity and determination. She also knows that one
of the biggest surprises of motherhood is how powerful and lasting the smallest
moments can be. "

Below is a link to a recent story on a local news program where Anne shares her story:
