A challenge to the Reverend Al Sharpton

During a recent
debate on Fox and Friends, anti-union consultant and Employee Free Choice Act opponent Barbara Comstock claimed that the Rev. Al Sharpton opposed removing the obstacles to a worker's right to organize. Since it wouldn’t be unusual for opponents of workers to try to use a leader of the African-American community to divide and conquer, I tried to get a clarification from the Reverend himself. So far my messages have remained unanswered.
Now I don’t need to give the Rev. Sharpton a history lesson. I’m sure he is aware of the great labor leader A. Philip Randolph and his protege Bayard Rustin, the civil rights movement's primary strategist. I’m sure he knows that without their
courage and tactical skills we wouldn’t be inaugurating our first African-American president. So I make my request publicly, if he opposes the EFCA let’s debate on his radio show, if he has been misrepresented by the union busters; make a statement and set the record straight.
Speaking of setting the record straight; The Employee Free Choice Act allows workers to negotiate with their employer after a majority approve through a simple card check procedure. Only after an agreement is reached and approved by a majority through a secret ballot election do the workers have a union.
Rev. Sharpton, union members and workers are waiting for an answer. It would be a shame if they were
mobilizing and you were on the other side.
Don’t let the union busters speak for you.
