Today I got an email that stated:
2010 Baker Artist Awards Begin Today - Thursday, October 1. Nominate yourself. You deserve it!
Oh god. Does that mean I have to re-upload all those images and all of those artist statements? How much work is this going to be?
Your 2009 nomination page is intact. Go to http://bakerartistawards.com. In the upper right hand corner, after you click on "log in", enter your username or your email address. This must be the same email address you used to register last year. In the next box enter your password. If you have forgotten your password simply click on “Forgot Password?” and follow the directions. Your password will be emailed to you.
More directions followed. It doesn't look too bad.
After logging on, your personal information page will appear. Update all your information. Read and agree to the terms. Next, update your nomination page (edit last year’s submission, update your bio, add new work, write detailed descriptions of your projects—including information about each work submitted.)

How long will this competition last? When is the deadline? And do I have to post new comments in order to get more votes??
The 2010 nominating period will run through January 15, 2010 at 5 pm, voting ends February 15, 2010 at 5 pm. The winners for both the Mary Sawyers Baker Prize and Peoples Choice will be announced in March 2010.
What's the deal with the awards?
Like last year, regional artists will compete for two different prizes. The first award, the Mary Sawyers Baker Prize is decided by private jury, and up to three winners will be awarded up to $25,000 each. The second award, the Peoples’ Choice, awards $1,000 each to the five artists who receive the most votes from the public.
I am curious about reactions from last years winners - both the Mary Sawyers Baker Prize winners and the viewers choice people. Any comments?
