With the spread of H1N1 in Connecticut still on-going, it's important to know what signs and symptoms to look out for in your home.

When to call the doctor:

It can be difficult to tell a cold apart from the flu as the symptoms can be similar. Here are the symptoms you need to look out for when calling your doctor:

  • Fever above 100.4 for babies 3 months and under, 101.1 for everybody else.
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Chills
  • Fatigue
  • Aching body

When to head to the ER

If you or your family members display any of the following symptoms, it's time to head to the Emergency Room:

  • Difficulty breathing or painful chest
  • Sudden dizziness
  • Severe or persistent vomiting
  • Confusion
  • Difficulty waking up or interacting with others
  • Purple or blue discoloration of the lips
