How can you use the Golden Gate Bridge as a thermometer? How can the different flags flying along a skyline double as a wind observatory? The outdoor Exploratorium has answers and endless fun for the family.

More than just the outdoor exhibit, the Exploratorium also answers questions of the mind. Are you good at faking a smile? What kind of patterns attract you? Explore the science of thinking and feeling at an exhibit at Mind, a collection of exhibits that enlighten us about the inner workings of our brains. The only thing that won't be going through your mind is leaving!

There is so much to do at the Exploratorium, boredom will be the farthest thing from any of your family's minds. The Science of Baseball demonstrates the science behind powerful swings. Can you really answer your inquisitve children if they ask what makes us human? You don't have to. Just take them to Evidence: How Do We Know What We Know?

If your little ones want a slightly younger version of science fun, hop across the Golden Gate for the Bay Area Discovery Museum. With Animal Secrets and Hip Hop dance shows for 8 and under, the small fry in your group will sure to have a blast.
