On Thursday, March 12,  the US District Court is Washington DC dismissed a case led by Michael Newdow, et al. (including approximately 230 new plaintiff's).

The case was directed at Judge Roberts, Justice of the Supreme Court, for changing the Constitution by adding "so help me, God" to the Presidential Oath of Office, which has its verbiage clearly spelled out in the US Constitution. Further, the inauguration committee was under fire for their inclusion of the religiously natured benediction and invocation in the inauguration.

The plaintiffs in the case are not discouraged as they plan to appeal. And although it is possible they may ultimately lose, Newdow believes that they are in "good shape" because they "have a very strong case" and they have the "Constitution of the United States on [their] side."
