In an attempt to make people aware that religious freedom includes the right of people to not be religious, the Washington Area Secular Humanists will hold its banquet on January 17th at the University of Mary Washington.

They have moved their annual banquet to from Washington to Fredericksburg so they can be a part of the area’s annual Religious Freedom Week festivities, which includes a parade that ends at the Religious Freedom Monument.

Group member, Timothy Travis said

We would like to raise the consciousness of Americans to the idea that we are also Americans, that we are also moral people. We're here, we're Americans, we're good citizens.
