The city of Genoa, Italy, has rejected the Union of Atheists, Rationalists, and Agnostics (UAAR) proposal for ads to be placed on Italian buses. The ads, which were to follow in a similar sentiment as the ads in Britain, were to begin appearing on buses in Genoa on February 4th.
The ad company, IGPDecaux, which is responsible for ad space on the buses has decided not to run the ads which were to read:
The bad news is that God doesn't exist. The good news is that you don't need him to.
There is no word at this point as to whether the UAAR will revamp their ads or otherwise try to force the issue.
