Rick Warren seems to be no different from any other religious leader with a personal agenda who, when it suits him, will lie as a means to an end. After coming under fire for his likening of gay relationships to incestuous or predatory relationships, he posted a video on his blog site refuting the accusations. Essentially, he is saying that the media is full of spin-doctors who fabricated this comparison.

He would have us believe that he is a supporter of the equal rights of all citizens as protected by the constitution while he was an active proponent of Proposition 8. You cannot be pro equal rights and pro Prop 8 at once. It is contradictory. It is a lie. And, the richest part of all is that he has said that one of the biggest reasons behind his support of Prop 8 is that Prop 8 helped to preserve freedom of speech. What?

If he really cared about the Constitution, he would uphold it in its entirety including that which supports the separation between church and state. And, in an effort to do so, he would tell Obama that he would have to decline from delivering the invocation, as there should be no religious ceremony included in the inauguration.  However, just as he does with his sacred Bible, he picks and chooses which parts of the Constitution he will embrace based on what supports his personal agenda and then he spins it to suit him.
