PizzAmore in Mount Dora                                                    Photo: Jeff Titelius

This week I had the pleasure of dining at PizzAmore in Mount Dora and if you enjoy fresh ingredients, cozy and intimate settings and great service, you’re going to love this fine restaurant.

As soon you enter PizzAmore, you know you’re in for a treat. The air is filled with the aromas of fresh Italian cooking and your mouth begins to water for anything on the menu. You are greeted by a lovely and gracious hostess, Leigh, who also happens to own the place so you know you’re in good hands! The restaurant offers alfresco dining as well as three warm and cozy rooms inside. Plus, there’s counter service as well. Now this is a real pizzeria!

On the menu are your traditional pizzas, specialty pizzas and pasta dishes all made with only the freshest ingredients as attested to by Leigh and soon by your own taste buds. Specialty pizzas include Florentine, Margharita, Vesuvio (spinach, feta, garlic and EVOO), Bianca or white cheese, Alfredo, Veggie and Stuffed Mediterranean (ricotta, spinach, olives, roasted peppers, onions, garlic with toasted parmesan on the top). Author note: Just writing this is makes my mouth water. If you like cheese, you’ll love all of the pizzas however if you don’t, then just let Leigh know and have them cut back a little. Alergic to gluten? No problem, they serve gluten-free crust as well!

Pasta dishes include spaghetti, penne, Fettuccine and Cheese Tortellini with your choice of sauces including Marinara, Alfredo, Meat Rosé. For an additional cost, add chicken to round out the meal.  Appetizers include garlic knots and a choice of four salads but I strongly recommend the Greek salad for the zesty dressing and delicious ingredients. At the bar, Leigh serves wines, beer, soda, iced tea and water.

PizzAmore adds a refreshing new taste of Italian to downtown Mount Dora, something that has been lacking for a long time! If you’re in the mood for pizza or pasta or maybe one GIANT Greek Salad, then stop by and enjoy a fabulous dining experience at 622 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora. PizzAmore caters as well. Visit them at YouLovePizza.com for menus, pics and “fun stuff.”
