Britney is getting more bad press, this time from down under. It seems that a lot of Australian citizens are upset that Britney does quite a bit of lip-synching in her current tour. In fact most of her tours, if not all.

According to People Magazine Virginia Judge, the Minister for Fair Trading for New South Wales (the Australian state that includes Sydney), said she is considering options to make sure fans aren't misled when buying tickets to Britney's Circus concerts. Some seats are going for more than $1,300.

"It is Britney's 'prerogative' to lip-sync, and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front," the judge said in a statement released by the government.

Then out of nowhere riding his white horse comes Prince Charming (John Mayer) who defended the young blonde damsel in distress on Twitter. He said "If you're shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."

But the lip-synching wasn’t the only problem fans had with the “Circus,” it seems they were also more than a little miffed because of what they called a lackluster performance. They were also upset by the fact that in her show in the Western Australia city of Perth, she didn’t even mention the city by name. "What's up Australia?," she said from the stage. "How you feeling tonight? It's so good to be here tonight. Your country is beautiful."

Yet Britney clearly left many of her fans satisfied. They have flooded her website with messages of support, and praised her for putting on a good show. "I paid $AUS 1,500 (nearly 1400 U.S. dollars)," wrote one. "To see a fantastic artist perform and sing in front of me is my dream come true. I love you Britney."

Another fan, Scott Bown, 16, tells PEOPLE the concert was "great" and Britney was "amazing." "People should stop being nasty about her and get a life," he says.

Spears, who is traveling with her father, will perform in Melbourne on Nov. 11.

When you have an artist that stands at the microphone and just sings, some would say that kind of show isn’t worth the money. So now thanks to the showmanship of people like Tina Turner, Madonna, Michael Jackson and Garth Brooks we have shows with a lot more action, dancing and movement. That takes a lot of energy so some artists are now lip-synching like Britney and who can forget the Ashlee Simpson fiasco on Saturday Night Live.

So, would you prefer less dancing and stage show with more actual singing or better stage shows with some lip-synching? Have a comment? Leave it below the slide show.
