Dan Kovach enjoys Utah pow at Solitude. Maybe I'll enter this one

Every April, skiers undoubtedly have a collection of all the pictures they took while skiing with friends at Utah's resorts. Whether it was a powder day in Honeycomb Canyon, a bluebird day at Deer Valley, or a day just hanging out in the terrain park at Brighton, shots of people tearing it up on the slopes are currently sitting on computer hard-drives or taking up space on camera flash cards. But if there are any pictures that stand out as the best of the bunch, now is the time to send it in to the Fifth Annual Ski Utah Photo Contest.

The contest, sponsored by Canon and Pictureline, received over 1,000 entries last year in both amateur and professional categories. If you think you have an awesome photo that captures the pure joy of skiing in Utah powder, then get that submission in before April 30.

The first prize winner in the amateur category will get a five-night Utah winter vacation for two people, which includes round-trip plane tickets, five night lodging, four day passes for two and cash for a rental car. The winner will also get a $500 gift card to be used toward the purchase of a Canon digital SLR camera from Pictureline. There are also sweet prizes for second and third place winners.

Also, the best chosen photos will be published in next year's Ski Utah Winter Vacation Planner, which would deserve some serious bragging rights. To enter the contest, simply go to the Ski Utah website or email entries with contact information to photocontest09@gmail.com
