Many of the nation's newspapers are in financial trouble. Reduced readership and the presence of the online editions of newspapers have cut deeply into the profitability of selling a printed paper version.

Regional newspapers have experienced the same challenges as the larger city and national editions, but they have the advantage of providing local information that is not available on any other media outlet. The Monadnock Ledger-Transcript located in Peterborough, NH  is a bi-weekly publication that covers news in the Monadnock region, including the town of New Ipswich.

Recently the Ledger upgraded their website to include the entire newspaper in PDF format, the addition of  a newsblog, searchable categories, polling, photo galleries and more. The e-edition is available for a limited time without a subscription fee at the  http://www.ledgertranscript.com.
