If you happen to find yourself longing for an adventure in Paris, take the time to venture 45 minutes outside of the city by train to Reims, France. This beautiful city played a huge part during the French monarchical history, and is home to the Saint Remi Basilica, The Palace of Tau, Cathedral of Norte-Dame de Reims and Champagne Pommery's Domaine.

Domaine Pommery has been a world-renowned French champagne house that was founded in 1858.  The 50+ hectares of lush grounds produces brut, rose and vintage champagnes. The underground cellars span an impressive 18 kilometers (about 11.2 miles) and house over 20 million bottles of Pommery champagne in gallo-roman chalk pits.

This season, the Pommery is featuring the 6th installment of the Experiences Pommery, with a new experience entitled "Sons & Lumières," by famed French artist Bertrand Lavier. Lavier is known world-wide for his art created from ordinary, everyday objects set in difficult spaces.  "In the depths of the cellars I do not present works of art but rather objects, some of which are highly prestigious and others quite mundane," Lavier says. "What they all have in common is their capacity to speak to the imagination." To accompany him in his work, Lavier enlisted the help of two great people; renowned theater lighting designer Gèrald Karlikow and acclaimed musicologist Peter Szendy. One collarabative piece: a huge French flag,( similar to the one that floats under the Arc de Triumph, bathed in pink light and accompanied by music by Philip Glass.

Enjoy the delights of delectable champagne, captivating art, beautiful grounds and bold architecture in an experience that captivates all the senses.

The exhibit opened September 14 and runs through March 30th.
