As if the performances of their first two competitions were not enough, Meryl Davis and Charlie White scored personal best scores in the original dance, the free dance, and the overall total. Their original dance and total scores were also the season-leading scores of any dance team. Their gold medal last week at NHK Trophy made them the first team to qualify for a spot in the Grand Prix Final.
Their biggest rivals this season, Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir and Americans Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, will be looking to join them at the Grand Prix Final with wins in their second Grand Prix events. Belbin and Agosto will be competing at Skate American this week and Virtue and Moir will be competing at Skate Canada next week.
