The Phoenix 10K celebrated the running the 34th edition in Downtown Phoenix with perfect weather on Sunday.  The two lap route loops around Wesley Bolen Plaza and the State Capitol (the 5K is one lap) with a fast route similar to the Race for the Cure.

The 10K winner was 21 year old Craig Curley posting a 29:49 with an almost 30 second gap before Karim Elmabchour crossed the tape.  The women's race was won by Wendy Thomas of Windsor, CO with a 35:31, squeaking in 10 seconds ahead of  Alvima Begay.

Women's 10K Leaders

  1. Wendy Thomas          35:31

  3. Aimee Nielsen             37:43
  4. Bridget Collins             39:29
  5. Dawn Stone                40:38

Ian Burrell won the 5K with 14:07 and Lindsay Allen was the first female crossing at 16:45.
