As per the Kidcity blog, today is registration day for the Museum of Modern Art's Family Art Classes. We have participated in past classes and enjoyed them very much. Typically, a few moments are spent in the galleries looking at something with questions asked by the instructor and then we go to a classroom to do a hands-on art project.
This semester's offerings include:
ART CLASSES
Under Pressure: Printmaking
4-6 & adult companions
A special two-hour workshop for families. Kids and adults explore works in the collection and special exhibitions, then use their experience in the galleries as inspiration in art-making workshops.
The Modern Still Life

Pop!
6-8 & adult companions
Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselman, and Roy Lichtenstein were inspired by the images and text they found in the media. Using newspapers, magazines, and other everyday sources, we'll draw inspiration from current events to create our own Pop art.
The Painter's Palette
Mix it up! We'll turn to modern masters such as Vincent van Gogh, Georges Seurat, and Henri Matisse for inspiration in the use of color and then experiment with our own color palettes to create landscape in this painting workshop.
For Tweens age 11-14, there are "Tours For Tweens."
