A free, nighttime visit to a local cemetery can provide a spark of excitement unlike any other. Walking with lights out, talking to the spirits in the area as if they are looking right at you, even mentioning that you are not there to harm them and to please let you pass unharmed (as if we could harm them) all strike a nerve. A mere brush against an unseen tombstone can have one jittery, while a cold spot stands hairs on end in excitement. Meandering off the cemetery's main path causes one to pay extra attention to the headstones, branches, leaves, and ornaments left by loved ones.

The notion that one might capture a hidden orb on a digital camera causes cemetery searchers to "feel" where to take a photo, often pointing the camera into pure darkness based on a hunch. Later on, at home, the images will be searched in detail for orbs or anything resembling them, however, most circles represent bugs or dust. In essence, a midnight visit to the local cemetery can be filled with excitement, hope, and dread simultaneously.

** Disclaimer: Be aware that many cemeteries have posted hours, so nighttime visits may be considered trespassing. It is usually best to arrange a visit with the cemetery ahead of time if planning a ghost hunt.
