Mr. and Mrs. Tareq and Michaele Salahi and VP Joe Biden

Mr. and Mrs. Tareq and Michaele Salahi, the wealthy Washington area couple, owners of a vineyard in Virgina and reality star show chasers crashed President Obama’s first State Dinner in the East Room of the White House for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. An investigation could find them guilty of perjuring themselves to federal officials, those at the gates-- which could land them in jail along side balloon boys parents.

Reports indicate the lack of experience and the size of the event is the cause of the breech of security. There is another possibility. There was an episode on Seinfeld in which Jerry dated a beautiful blonde. Every time he was stopped by the police or had any problem, he had his girlfriend who was a stunning blonde “handle it.”

Blonde beauty (even though reportedly faux) blinding security may have had more to do with the couple getting in, than mere rookie oversight. Let’s face it, the security at the front lines of such a high profile function is tight and multi-tiered. Appearances are everything here. Had they been a Native American or African American couple other than Professor Skip Gates and escort, or Mr. and Mrs. Joe Blow from Arkansas in their Sunday best, they probably would not have made it past the first line of inspection. Perhaps the  novice gatekeeper being skapegoated saw Mrs. Salahi on the “Desperate Housewives of D.C.”

 She has been in talks with Bravo regarding a new reality TV show, and the rumors are that while they were getting groomed and made up for last nights caper by pros, Mr. and Mrs Wanna be were being filmed by a camera crew. Uh Oh, conspiracy.

Mr. and Mrs. Tareq and Michaele Salahi were announced; they were photographed with the Vice President Joe Biden on down the line. They apparently did not get photographed with President Obama, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, spiritual guru Deepak Chopra or perhaps the most important person for them: or Steven Spielberg. Why? The New York Times consulted with someone at the White House and revealed that "the Salahis had not been invited nor seated for dinner." Thus they could not post what they had for dinner. Where? They brazenly posted the photographs of their felony offense on their on Michaele Salahi’s narcissistic Facebook fanpage. (It is open to the public.)

It reads:

“I was honored to be invited to attend the First State Dinner hosted by President Obama & the First Lady to honor India. In June 2010, the America's Polo Cup will be between INDIA & the UNITED STATES. Please join me in this cultural celebration of politics, diplomacy, fashion, sports, entertainment & family fun.” Yes this is their idea of an invitation!

The pairs' other Facebook albums show past shots of their (crashed) appearances with Polo-loving Prince Charles, President Obama, former president Bill Clinton, former presidential candidate John McCain, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby and Buzz Aldrin.

The secret service is investigating. If it is found that this high profile, publicity-seeking horsy-set couple has committed the felony act of perjuring themselves to federal officials, and they suffer no consequences, it will be sad. All of the world is watching.
