While there is much to consider, ponder, and puzzle about in the realm of gender given its un-fixed nature, how our culture deals with it, etc, there is an area where there is, in my opinion, no question. That is in the domain of marriage.
No matter your gender, no matter your sex, you should be able to marry the one you love. And to those who worry that such marriages might somehow diminish their own, have a look at Massachusetts. In my fair state, equal marriage has been a law for over three years. The sky has not fallen. The rate of divorce among heterosexuals has not risen. Children have not been harmed. Instead, more folks who love each other have been able to declare that love not only publically but LEGALLY.
It is Freedom to Marry Week. Have a look at a few of the many actions you can take this week to support the struggle for equal marriage. It's easy, and it's the right thing to do.
