The National Mill Dog Rescue Group in Colorado Springs
has nominated two Goldendoodles like this one
to become "first dog"
Almost a week has passed since our 44th President, Barack Obama, took the oath of office. Now many are looking to him to keep his campaign promises including his daughters who were promised a puppy.
One Colorado rescue group is looking to help the Obama's in their selection by offering up two Goldendoodles (a goldenretrieverr-poodle mix) sisters, Stella and Susie. The National Mill Dog Rescue organization in Colorado Springs has contacted the White House with their offer and are anxiously awaiting a response.
The four-month old sisters were rescued from a roadside in Missouri and were quite sick upon their arrival. The pair are now healthy, rambunctious and ready to join a family like the Obamas.
Normally during adoption proceedings a home visit by a shelter employee helps determine if a home is suitable for a pet. According to Theresa Stradler of the National Mill Dog Rescue the iron gates at the White House are a bit of a concern, "...we're going to have to chicken wire the White House."
