Adam tweeted yesterday "Gonna be on Seacrest tommorow morning to debut single 'For Your Entertainment' on the radio!" and today the single is available on various websites for a full listen. Perez Hilton's website is featuring it and although Perez gives it a thumbs up, describes it as a bit too similar to Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold". I have to agree that the two songs sure sound a lot alike.
My personal opinion? It's definitely not what I expected from Adam.
It's absolulely pop, which I don't mind. But it's not as edgy as I hoped, and it definitely doesn't showcase the incredible talent Adam has--to be honest, I think it sounds more like something Britney Spears would sing (and I happen to like Britney, so this is not a dig). Just surprised the song is so mainstream, when Adam is so extraordinary and unique. I wouldn't even recognize that this was an Adam Lambert song until more toward the end, when he lets loose with one of his signature longer, higher riffs.
I think it might be one of those songs that grows on me as time passes. And I'm betting we'll be hearing it on shows like So You Think You Can Dance pretty soon.
Curious to hear what those of you out there think of it? Do tell...
