Harvard Beats Yale 29-29, a film by Kevin Rafferty, tells the epic gridiron tale of the rivalry and The Game - Harvard University v. Yale University - as it went down in 1968. Years later, Sports Illustrated would name this match one of the five best college football games ever played.
According to the official film website, the film is "on one level, about a football game... on another level [it is] about 1968, Vietnam, SDS, birth control, fate, class, tear gas, and sex."
Harvard Beats Yale 29-29, is a Kino International release currently playing in several cities nationwide: Atlanta, Georgia; Helena, Montana; Richmond, Virginia; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Flint, Michigan. It will be expanding to more cities in the near future, but the film is available on DVD and BLU-RAY now.
Currently, Homage Clothing is offering a package deal for $40 which includes a copy of the film on DVD, and a tee shirt designed specifically to go along with the film. Ryan Vesler, owner of Homage, describes the tee as "super old school and distressed... designed to look like someone made it following the game." Check out the image of the shirt alongside this article, and order the new package here! It's a great deal!
The film has been reviewed by the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.
