Manhattan's own Jim Hanley's Universe (JHU) is having another excellent comic book event in their newly restored store at 4 West 33rd Street (right across from the Empire State Building) this Saturday, November 14th, 2009! This event is free and begins at 3:00 p.m.
Film maker Miguel Cima has brought his award winning documentary, "DIG COMICS", to the JHU "Underground" scene this weekend. It is an in depth film about comics in American culture and will be followed by a panel discussion among the biggest names in modern comics!
This panel will consist of Marvel Comics Executive Editor Tom Brevoort; DC comics writer/editor and founder of Paradox Comics, Andy Helfer; author and editor of the GRAPHIC NYC Blog, Chris Irving; and finally, author of books SUPERMAN ON THE COUCH and DISGUISED AS CLARK KENT, as well as longtime editor and writer of Marvel comics in the 90's (including all 50 issues of DARKHAWK), Danny Fingeroth!
JHU is accessed via public transit via the D, F, V, B, N, and R trains to 34th Street in Manhattan. Check it out!
