Now that summer is finally here, it's sure to be brew skies, nothing but brew skies, so hoist a stein in salute to National Beer Week.

When Chicago chefs were asked, "What is your favorite mass-produced American beer," which domestic brew do you think led the pack in terms of taste and refreshment? See if your favorite budget-friendly beer shows up:

Paul Kahan, Chef/Partner of avec, Blackbird and The Publican
“Schlitz.”

Phillip Walters, Co-Owner of The Bristol
“Miller High Life.”

Cary Taylor, Chef of Chaise Lounge
“Miller High Life. After a long shift at Blackbird, the owners would buy all of the line cooks a beer. Usually it was Miller High Life. After a few nights of receiving this reward, I began to really take to it. Now I find fewer things more refreshing than a Miller High Life after a tough day's work. It reminds me of a time in my life when I was learning to cook, working hard labor and cleaning commercial kitchen equipment. The taste of MHL coincides with the smells of hardwood smoldering on an open grill; bleach on a sticky floor; and Yoshi, the line cook, who never wore deodorant -- even while working two feet from a raging broiler for seven hours in the middle of July. But I doubt that the High Life would have ever crossed these lips if it weren't for the guys at Blackbird who understood that sometimes guys and gals want a cold one after a good night -- and especially bad night -- on the line. Glad it wasn't Bud Light. Pabst could have been nice. Schlitz would have been unique. Mmm ... Schlitz.”

Jim Lasky, Owner of Chaise Lounge
“I like a Coors Light.”

Dirk Flanigan, Chef of The Gage
“My favorite mass-produced American beer is Grain Belt from Minnesota; however, an even more mass-produced beer is Miller High Life -- I do like a High Life.”

Jill Barron, Chef/Co-Owner of MANA food bar
“PBR!”

Carrie Nahabedian, Chef/Co-Owner of NAHA
“Miller High Life in the tall-necks.”

Tony Priolo, Chef/Co-Owner of Piccolo Sogno
“Miller Lite.”

Randy Zweiban, Chef/Owner of Province
“Rolling Rock.”

Paul Virant, Chef/Owner of Vie
“Schlitz is my new mass-produced standby brew -- it used to be the "Champagne of beers," Miller High Life.”

Toby Maloney, Mixologist/Partner of the Violet Hour
“Miller High Life.”

It seems Miller High Life wins this particular brew-ha-ha!
