As a child growing up my parents took us on the traditional "Xmas Light's Drive" where you get to see amazing arrangement of lights and decorations as well as some Holiday Spirit. As the years have gone by, one starts to realize that those are the special moments you want to share with your loved ones.
In turn, I drove my children around most of Colorado Springs and found a few neighborhoods with an amazing array of lights, that are a definite must see. My ears were filled with "Mom, Mom, Mom, did you see that one?", in no time at all, memories were being made by the dozens!
The neighborhoods I found to be full of the Holiday Spirit are:
Neighborhoods in the Cimarron Hills Division
Neighborhoods in the Chapel Hills & Old Ranch Road area
Neighborhoods in the N. Carefree Circle & Peterson Road area
My personal favorite area to roam was between N. Carefree Circle and Mark Sheffel Road. Peterson Road is off of N. Carefree Circle, go south on Peterson Road and make a left onto Pony Tracks Drive to see some "eye-candy". Also, hit Springs Ranch Drive off of N. Carefree Circle for another treat as well.
General rules to follow when going on the traditional "Xmas Light's Drive":
Be courteous to the residents who live there.
Do not hold up traffic
Be cautious for pedestrians
Lights start coming on after dusk and are now on every night until after Christmas. Also, give yourself time to get through traffic, there will be Rush Hour traffic and Holiday Shopping traffic. If you happen to come across any lighted neighborhoods that you would like to submit for readers, please email me here.
