For more info: Take your family on the holiday light drive.

My mother has come to visit for the holidays and it has been just crazy! Not because of my mother of course but because of the crazy traffic, packed malls, my cell phone ringing of the hook, car accidents, excessive trips to town(groceries, etc.). Let me tell you having to leave for town more than once a day during the holiday season is frankly too much. Having family for the holidays guarantees this dilemma. I seem to be scatter brained as many of us are at this time of year, but it feels more like over-stimulation. At this point I am hoping that I'll turn into a mindless droid but it's not happening.

My rescue remedy for the holiday jitters:

is to wait in the car if you have to be the chauffeur.

This way you keep your sanity avoiding huge crowds.

Take a book, or something to entertain yourself while you wait in the car.

Have your party call you when they are outside the mall waiting for you.

That way you can whip around, pick them up and off to the next destination.

Find out how long they will be.

You can possibly have a chance to fill up on gas, have your car washed, or run some small errand.

Make it fun for yourself.

Stop and treat yourself with some fancy holiday coffee or treat of some sort.

Make sure to stretch your legs.

You don't want to get a cramp.

The city streets are filled with extremely distracting situations happening. Keep focused at the task at hand. As I was stopped at a light 3 cars back, I witnessed a hit and run accident. Keep your loved ones safe by making sure they wear a seatbelt. If you have any other remedies for the holiday driving jitters drop me an email by clicking here. Be safe and be careful out there.
