Michelle Obama will attend Fort Hood Memorial Service on Tuesday with President Barack Obama. The Fort Hood Texas army base is one of the largest in the world and was the recent setting for one of the most horrific loss of life incidents involving the United States armed services in history. Psychiatrist  Malik Nidal Hasan is accused of firing more than 100 rounds Thursday in a soldier processing center at Fort Hood that left thirteen dead.

Michelle Obama Fort Hood memorial service, the First lady  was originally scheduled to visit Department of Labor and showcase the Department’s remarkable onsite childcare facility and in the evening  attend National Arts and Humanities Medal event with President Obama.
