After keeping a low profile for months Rihanna has opened up and told her secrets about the beating her then boyfriend Chris Brown gave her in February 2009, and she did it on national television on ABC's "20/20."

Although Brown said he supports Rihanna's right to speak to the public about that terrible night, he would prefer that the details remain private.

"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of Feb. 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us," Brown told MTV News.

"I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions."
