A Connecticut prosecutor trying to keep contents of search warrants secret and the courtroom closed in the David Letterman blackmail case..

CBS News producer Robert J. "Joe" Halderman has pleaded not guilty to attempting to extort $2 million from Letterman in order to keep quiet about the late night host's sexual affairs.

Papers were filed in court by prosecutor Suzanne Vieux Wednesday that claimed unsealing the search warrants in the case could subject witnesses to excessive media scrutiny and hurt the prosecution.

The warrants deal with the accused's home in Norwalk and his 2006 Honda Accord.

Vieux has also requested a closed courtroom for the Thursday hearing in Norwalk Superior Court.
