What could possibly be more entertaining than sexy, macho men competing for your attention, and twelve coveted calendar spots? Ladies of Denver: We present to you the FireFighter Calendar Competition 2010 hosted by Fired Up for Kids, Friday March 27 from 6pm to midnight. And what better way to check out the competition than to meet two of our local firefighter hotties?
NOTE TO GUYS: Check out the hottie firefighter ladies competing too!
Lucky for
Examiner.com, two calendar babes, Sean Martin (West Metro #14) and Jim Smith (Aurora Fire), are not only hot firemen, but they enjoy exploring their native
state of Colorado. That’s why we asked them what they love to do in Colorado. We wanted to know everything from favorite romantic hotspots to beloved Colorado pastimes.
Our outdoorsy pick, Sean Martin, is from Parker, CO and boasts about
Parker’s local bike trails and old historic Colorado jaunts like
Central City, before it was built up as a casino town. In fact, during our interview, Martin was heading to
Winter Park with his family for a weekend in the outdoors!
Smith, on the other hand, prefers travelling outside of Denver to his favorite pizzeria,
Garramone's in Lakewood, and romantic stays at the
Beaver Creek Lodge for their beautiful golf course and mountain scenery.
Both family men have one thing in common: They love to take their kids out to enjoy Colorado’s beautiful mountain scenery and
hiking trails. Smith travels to Taylor Park Reservoir near the Cottonwood pass, while Martin takes his family to his favorite trails in
Rocky Mountain National Park and
Mesa Verde.
Event attendees and a panel of celebrity judges will select the firefighters who will appear in the
2010 Colorado Firefighter calendar. These firefighters range in age from 25 to 50+ and are from all over the state, from Pueblo to Boulder to Vail to the Denver metro area. Fired Up For Kids is the volunteer organization producing the calendar which benefits The Children’s Hospital Burn Center.
How it works: Each finalist will meet individually with the judges and answer questions about what they enjoy about being a firefighter and why they want to be in the calendar. The audience will have a chance to watch the firefighters strut their stuff on the runway and participate in final selections. The firefighters will be available for media interviews.
This year Fired Up for Kids turns up the heat with a celebrity-studded auction including a chance to spend the day with
Patrick Dempsey at the Coke Zero 400 (Formerly Pepsi 400), one of NASCAR’s most anticipated events at the
Daytona International Speedway. The winner will ride in the pace car, hang out in the pit, and have a meet and greet with Patrick after the race.
The Colorado Firefighter Calendar is produced and created by Fired Up For Kids, a nonprofit organization. Fired Up For Kids donates all proceeds received from special events and sales of Colorado Firefighter Calendar to
The Children's Hospital Burn Center.
