Stephenie Meyer was interviewed by Oprah on Friday’s show, and Oprah asked every question everyone wanted to know…well expect one question. New Moon, the latest Twilight movie will be released nationwide on Friday and Oprah had the only interview with Meyer before the release.
In September of 2008, Stephenie Meyer had completed half of the 5th Twilight book when it was leaked to the press, and Meyer was so upset about the whole situation, that she put the draft of the book on her website and said that was it…she was done writing Twilight. Fans have been waiting ever since for a possible future book.
Before a commercial break, Oprah said that when they came back Stephenie would answer if there was another book coming. But Oprah never asked the question. Oprah Show representatives did speak to Stephenie after the show and asked her if there will be another Twilight novel coming.
Stephenie Meyer replied, “I can’t answer it. The way I write, it’s what makes me happy. Like, I can’t write when people are looking over my shoulder.”
She continued, “I am a little burned out on vampires right now,” she said. “I think I need a little break. I might go spend some time with my aliens. I might do something completely different. I’ve got to cleanse the palate. I may come back to it. I did envision it as a longer series. But I wrapped ‘Breaking Dawn’ in a way that I felt satisfied with, so if that moment didn’t come, I’d be OK.”
Stephenie Meyer attended Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah and received a bachelor’s degree in English.
