People worldwide are asking how our diet affects not just our health, but the workers who grow and process the food, those who are forced to go hungry, the animals we create and kill, and ultimately the survival of our planet.
The Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara is hosting several monthly discussions where participants can ask questions, watch some great short films, find information, and get encouragement so we can eat more ethically. Youth welcome, potluck lunch available.
The following discussions are open to the public:
June 28
- Human Rights & Social Inequity
July 26
- Animal Rights & Human Responsibilities*
August 23 - Our Choices as Consumers: Influencing Our World
*World-renown author and animal advocate, Will Tuttle, Ph.D., will be joining the animal rights discussion group on Sunday, July 26.
